Oil waste is a byproduct of manufacturing in almost every case. Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping was no exception. In an effort to maintain a low impact on the environment the oil waste ponds had to be properly drained and cleaned in accordance with EPA guidelines. Contaminated water was transferred to one pond while the other was properly cleaned. Special care was taken to not damage the liners that’s protect the surrounding soil from oil seepage. Surface stone was cleaned thoroughly and clean water was introduced into the pond. The same process was then repeated in the other pond.

While not a large project by itself, it is an excellent demonstration of SCE’s capability to handle environmental cleanup for its clients.

When Chrysler announced that the Twinsburg Stamping Plant would be shut down in 2010 it was necessary to move critical manufacturing equipment, like the robotic door lines, to operational plants for continued use. In coordination with Chrysler, SCE removed all of the robotic and accompanying presses from Twinsburg for relocation elsewhere. Great care was taken in removing these highly valuable pieces of equipment. All robotics were banded and blocked with great attention to detail before being loaded on to covered tractor trailers to avoid potential damage from the environment on their journey.

SCE’s highly skilled workforce was able to disassemble, package, rig, and ship out these items with ease. We were please to finish this project ahead of schedule and below budget demonstrating yet again our ability to save clients both time and money when it comes to our services.

The West 25th. Street station is located in the heart of Ohio City, featuring several bus connections as well as the red line. Renovated in 1992 the stations stairs were in desperate need of replacement due to exposure to the elements. Instead of simply replacing the stairs with another set of steel stairs the RTA opted to try a fiberglass replacement. This prototype project finished planning stages in early June and construction began shortly thereafter. The new fiber stairs (designed and manufactured by Fibergrate) offer a lighter more durable solution that should stand the test of time and offer travelers a safe and presentable entrance to the station.

In addition to the stair replacement SCE also was commissioned to repair/replace concrete that failed to meet ADA specifications. The new stairs and concrete should offer travelers excellent, safe, access to the station and to the community surrounding them for years to come. Featured below are both before and after pictures. As you can see the previous steel stairs simply could not handle years of water and salt exposure, FRP on the other hand should have no issues in these conditions.

When one of our clients needed a contractor to handle complex rigging in an active work environment Standard was up to the challenge. Located in down town Cleveland, SCE needed to rig several rooftop units along with a boiler in the midst of day to day building operations and street traffic. Even more challenging the boiler needed to be rigged through an active working environment several floors up with disruption of building operations or damage to the exterior glass structure.

The project was a complete success. It was completed on time, safely, and with minimal disruptions. Projects like these are perfect examples of why clients should trust us with their rigging needs, whether they be a small roof top unit or a large boiler.
